Micromax A240 Canvas Doodle 2 runs on 1.2 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6589 processor based on Cortex-A7. It has 1 GB RAM and 16 GB internal memory, which cannot be expanded further. It has accelerometer and proximity sensors.

The device features 5.7-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with HD (720 x 1280 pixels) resolution and 196 pixels per inch density.

The design of the phone seems to be inspired by the Canvas 4 as it has similar curvy edges and compact look. The body is made up of aluminium and plastic. It is available in silver color.

The phone sports a 12-megapixel camera with dual-LED flash, geo-tagging, image stabilization and autofocus. It can record HD videos and click snaps of 4000 x 3000 pixels resolution. The device also features a 5 MP front camera for video-calling and selfies.

In terms of multimedia, the device supports playback of all the common video and audio formats apart from FM radio.

The Canvas Doodle 2 runs on Android v4.2.1 (Jelly Bean). The device supports messaging through SMS, MMS, push mail and Gmail. The phone has all the common Android apps like Google Search, Maps and google Play Store in addition to Micromax's Hookup, Mizone, Mistore and Mi buddy.

The phone runs on 2600 mAh Li-Ion battery which promises talk time up-to 8 hours and standby time up to 220 hours. As for the connectivity features, the Canvas Doodle 2 supports Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Hotspot, HSDPA (42 mbps), HSUPA (11 mbps), GPRS, EDGE, Bluetooth v4.0 and MicroUSB v2.0.
