Micromax Canvas Pep

The Micromax Canvas Pep is a budget dual-SIM smartphone which comes with a powerful quad-core processor and a 5-megapixel rear camera. The smartphone comes with standard features similar to most devices at this price point and it could also be a bit lacking in some segments such as battery.

The device comes equipped with a 4.5-inch IPS LCD touchscreen display having an FWVGA (854 480 pixels) resolution. The compact device has a pixel density of 218 PPI. The smartphone runs Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box. The device is unlikely to get an update to run the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop OS from the Indian manufacturer.

At the heart of the device sits a quad-core processor coming with a clock speed of 1.3 GHz. The processor delivers optimum performance and renders a butter smooth operation on the smartphone. Multi-tasking on the device is a breeze thanks to the 1 GB of RAM which comes on the smartphone. The device is powered by a Li-In 1700 mAh battery. The battery does not pack a punch but still manages to keep the device running through a normal day of use.

The Micromax Canvas Pep comes with 8GB of internal storage which can be further bumped up to 32GB courtesy the microSD card slot available on the smartphone. The device also comes with a VGA front shooter along with a 5-megapixel primary camera. The primary camera comes with LED flash but unfortunately, it does to come with autofocus feature as it is mounted with a fixed focus lens. The front camera is capable of clicking decent selfies as well as making video calls. The rear camera can capture HD images and videos.

The dual-SIM smartphone comes with a wide array of connectivity options such as 3G, EDGE, GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and a microUSB 2.0 port.
