The device comes with an interchangeable wrist band, it is available in six colour variants. It looks sporty and reflects an elegant look. The only physical button on the Fit is on the side and is small but easy to press. Underneath the Fit is a sensor to monitor your heart rate which uses an LED to measure your pulse along with a charging port. The device is powered by a 180 MHz ARM Cortex M4 chipset and comes with Bluetooth 4.0 Low Energy, an accelerometer and a gyroscope. The fitness band is running Samsung s Real Time operating system (RTOS) instead of the usual Android or Tizen. The Gear Fit is powered by a 210 mAh battery. The battery on the device lasts for two to three days which is relatively better than Samsung s smartwatches. It is IP67 certified which makes it water-proof. The device only works with Samsung smartphones. Samsung should be given credit for blending a fitness tracker with a smartphone. The only drawback is the use of software in the device. The user interface is confusing and the heart rate monitor and pedometer aren t accurate. The Gear Fit looks great on paper but poorly executed.
